HCL Infosystems has bagged a contract of over Rs 500 cr from the Rajasthan State Electricity Board (SEB) to implement a state-wide solution involving integration of IT GIS AMR and associated technologies. Rajasthan is the first state in India to facilitate the implementation of power reforms by the Ministry of Power under the Re-structured Accelerated Power Development and Reform Program (RAPDRP).
The project involves consultancy, design, development and implementation encompassing business process applications, CRM, Billing, GIS, AMR. The project also involves setting up of a wide area network and a data centre with a disaster recovery back-up centre. The project will implement a state-wide differential GPS to map all the electrical assets of the three distribution companies of the state. It further involves creation of baseline data, energy audit, accountability and efficiency with improved consumer services and satisfaction.

RAPDRP is a flagship program of the Ministry of Power having focus on actual, demonstrable performance of distribution companies in terms of sustained loss reduction, to establish reliable and automated systems for sustained collection of accurate base line data. The program is designed to facilitate adoption of modern technology in the areas of energy accounting as part of the government’s program of rolling out projects for strengthening distribution.
