Grey Matter India Technologies, an IT outsourcing provider based in Mumbai, has announced the opening of its new captive technical ODC in Baner, Pune. This is the second operational unit in the satellite city and is in conjunction with GMI’s business expansion plans. Spread over an area of 2500 sq ft, the new unit expands GMI’s technical talent pool by 60 engineers.

Last year, GMI started its first ODC in Baner, Pune, with an aim of organic expansion, tapping the vast talent pool available locally. Within a year the ODC reached peak operational threshold and justified the management’s decision. This prompted the current expansion with a view to enhance productivity and profitability.

“Buoyed by the track record from our first venture in Pune, this new unit demonstrates GMI’s confidence in the potential that Pune offers in terms of technical expertise and business growth. GMI considers Pune to be the next IT hub in India and has set its vision on spreading its presence here,” said Chintan Shah, president and CEO at GMI.

“The new centre will provide support and services to our growing customer base. Now that we have four state-of-the-art development centres, GMI foresees exceeding the forecasted revenue of this financial year,” Shah added.
