Gemini Communication along with Midas Communication Technologies has bagged Rs 260 crore order from BSNL for executing Enhanced Digital Wireless Access System (EDWAS) project in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Haryana.
Both the firms have entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in this regard, the company said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
This tender, floated by BSNL, envisages supply, installation and commissioning of 134 base station controller and 1,340 base station sites in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Haryana for providing voice and broadband data services. As part of the tender, Midas has an obligation for the installation and commissioning on a turnkey basis, for which it has outsourced the implementation of the EDWAS project on a turnkey basis to Gemini, the company added.
According to the MOU, the technology developed by Midas has to be implemented and deployed by Gemini within the total time schedule of 150 days. The project would be concluded in phases with the first phase of Rs 50 crore to be executed in Tamil Nadu, the company said.
