EMC has announced expansion of cloud services portfolio to accelerate the adoption, consumption, optimisation, and management of cloud computing. The new services are targeted to help customers accelerate their IT transformation initiatives, enabling IT to more quickly deliver ITaaS to their clients.
These new set of services address the transformation of people, process and technology and range from strategy and business case development, to design and deployment, to support, optimisation, and education.
“Today’s announcement represents an evolution and expansion of EMC’s cloud services portfolio. EMC is now bringing our customers a comprehensive set of services to help them transform their IT operations to an agile as-a-service model to enable significantly reduced OpEx and CapEx as well as improved business alignment,” said Howard Elias, President and Chief Operating Officer, EMC Information Infrastructure and Cloud Services.
The new cloud services align to the following critical elements of delivering IT-as-a-Service (ITaaS): cloud infrastructure, cloud optimised applications, and end-user computing.
The portfolio now includes:
Cloud Infrastructure Services: New services to help clients define the right architectural design for their cloud strategy: hybrid, public, and private, and enable clients to accelerate the adoption and benefits of cloud technology solutions, including converged infrastructure.
Cloud Optimised Applications: New services to help customers accomplish their Application Rationalisation and Modernisation objectives and enable customers to accelerate the virtualisation of mission-critical applications. The new services also enable Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS), Application Replatforming, and Application Infrastructure Optimisation.
End-user Computing: New services to help customers accelerate the move to Desktop-as-a-Service (DaaS) using technologies like VMware View and the incorporation of Mobile Platforms.
