EDIMAX Launches Ethernet Adapter For Ultrabooks

EDIMAX Technology, a provider of advanced network communication and IP surveillance products, has launched Edimax EU-4208 USB 2.0 fast Ethernet adapter specifically designed to give fast Ethernet connectivity to ultrabooks, or any computer without an Ethernet port. Upon plugging it into their computer’s USB 2.0 port, users will be able to instantly enjoy a stable 10/100Mbps Ethernet connection. The EU-4208 is also a convenient way to install an Ethernet connection on a desktop computer without opening up the case. Backwards compatible with the USB 1.1 standard, the EU-4208 is capable of working seamlessly with Windows 2000, XP, Vista and 7, as well as Mac OS 10.x.

The Edimax EU-4208 uses the USB 2.0 standard and is capable of transferring data at 480Mbps, ensuring full 10/100Mbps Ethernet performance.

Less than 7 centimeters long and around 2 centimeters wide, the Edimax EU-4208’s compact design makes it easy to use in a crowded workspace. With power over USB support, the device works without the need for an external power adapter. Additionally, the EU-4208 is designed to use power efficiently, preventing unnecessary power wastage. It dynamically lowers its power supply for low power consumption during periods of idleness or low traffic.

The Edimax EU -4208 complies with IEEE 802.3/802.3u standards and USB 2.0/1.1 specifications. It supports 10/100Mbps auto-negotiation and multiple OSs such as Windows 2000/XP/Vista/7 and Mac OS X 10.x.
