EDIMAX Technology, the provider of advanced network communication products, has announced the launch of the BR-6258n 150Mbps Wireless Broadband Nano Router.

The BR-6258n is a miniature, energy-efficient, and space-saving wireless broadband router designed for anyone who needs to share an Internet connection in a hotel room, a conference room, or any place where there is only one Internet cable. Its compactness and versatility make it a handy network companion for users who are constantly on the go.

With both a WAN port and a LAN port, the BR-6258n gives users the flexibility of using it as either a router or a wireless adapter. Users can easily turn a wired Internet connection into a Wi-Fi network for multiple devices. Users can also turn a TV, a game console, or any network client with an Ethernet port into a wireless device.

The BR-6258n supports power over USB and comes with a USB cable and a separate USB power adapter. Such a design enables users to power the BR-6258n with either a wall socket, or a computer’s USB port when a power outlet is not available. The built-in WPS button also allows users to build a secure connection with a wireless network client with a simple click. There is no need to go through the hassle of configuring the complicated security settings manually.

The BR-6258n 150Mbps Wireless Broadband Nano Router’s sleek supercar design makes using and traveling with it a pleasant experience. Yet, this small and versatile router does not only look fast, it complies with IEEE 802.11b/g/n standards and can achieve wireless transmission rates of up to 150Mbps. Its signal coverage is also 3 times greater than standard 802.11g/b routers.

In accordance with EDIMAX’s green policy, the BR-6258n is designed to automatically detect the amount of wireless transference and supply only the amount of power needed. After being tested against other non-green 150Mbps routers, test results show that the BR-6258n saves 50% power at the same download speed, 23% power at the same upload speed, and up to 75% power when there is no wireless activity.
