Dax Networks, Perle Launch IOLAN Secure Console Servers

Dax Networks, in partnership with Perle, a provider of serial and I/O connectivity solutions, is launching IOLAN Secure Console Servers. An IOLAN Secure Console Server comes with advanced security functionality to perform secure remote data centre management and helps IT managers reduce costs and cut downtime.

IOLAN Secure Console Servers (SCS) will enable administrators to securely access remote serial console ports on equipment such as Private Branch Exchange (PBX), servers, routers, LAN switches, UPS, network storage equipment and security appliances through an IP network. Available in 8, 16, 32 and 48 port sizes, the IOLAN SCS series has the right fit for all the serial application needs.

Product Highlights

IOLAN SCS give access to console port of multiple devices using single IP link (LAN/ WAN). This out-of-band management of remote devices gives the system administrator complete access to the console of all devices at the central site.

IOLAN SCS help administrators to manage the data centre anytime via remote and central sites. IOLAN SCS with built-in dual Ethernet and Redundant Path technology provide assured serial console port access, offering a reliable solution for managing data centre and remote branch equipment.

By using encryption technologies, IOLAN SCS protect sensitive and confidential data from a serial device before being sent across a corporate Intranet or public Internet. For compatibility with peer encryption devices, all of the major encryption ciphers such as AES, 3DES, RC4, RC2 and CAST128 are fully supported.

In IOLAN SCS, data management information is protected through standard encryption tools such as Secure Shell (SSH) and Secure Sockets Layer (SSL). Access by authorised users is assured via authentication schemes such as RADIUS, TACACS+, LDAP, Kerberos, NIS and RSA Security’s SecurID tokens.

With Dual Ethernet interfaces, IOLAN SCS provide a backup network path and ensure that the console management is available even if the primary AC power source fails. In addition, IOLAN SCS have built-in fault tolerant capabilities to ensure secure access for managing important mission critical equipment.
IOLAN Secure Console Servers come with a three-year carry-in warranty and online support to customers. Dax plans to market this product through its strong channel spread across the country.
