Cummins India has selected Oracle Applications to standardize its business process across five group companies, three manufacturing units and 26 distribution locations.
Cummins India said in a statement that the implementation, which is expected to be complete by July 2007, will help it to establish a fully integrated supply and delivery chain.
The company plans to use Oracle’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Applications, Oracle Supply Chain Planning, Oracle iSupplier Portal, Oracle Purchasing and Oracle Order Management to create integrated and standardized business processes that will provide the company with greater transparency and better control with lower TCO.
“An integrated supply chain not only streamlines operations, it also reduces waste,” said Subhomoy Sengupta, senior director, Applications Sales, Oracle India. “Cummins India can use the integrated supply chain to manage the sourcing of raw material better.”
“The fully integrated supply and delivery chain will help Cummins India reach out to its delivery partners and enable a uniform customer experience,” he added.
