CP Gurnani has been appointed as the Managing Director of Tech Mahindra. CP played a pivotal role in the three year transformational journey of Mahindra Satyam and is spearheading the eventual merger with Tech Mahindra.
“From establishing Tech Mahindra as the undisputed leader in telecom to charting Mahindra Satyam’s three year transformational turnaround in the most trying of circumstances, CP’s journey as the turnaround CEO is now complete and I congratulate him as he takes on this additional critical responsibility. I am confident that he will continue to outshine in all that he sets out to do,” said Anand Mahindra, Chairman, Mahindra Group and Chairman of Tech Mahindra.
“I have closely worked with CP for more than 15 years and his abundant energy, spontaneity and customer centric approach is not replicable. It is his single minded focus and ‘never say die’ attitude that helped galvanise the teams and made Mahindra Satyam’s recovery possible. As he takes on this critical responsibility, his experience at Tech Mahindra and Mahindra Satyam will prove to be invaluable as we move closer to the formal merger. Previously, CP headed Tech Mahindra’s global operations, sales and marketing functions, and led the development of the company’s competency and solution units.
An alumnus of National Institute of Technology (NIT), Rourkela, he has held several leading positions with HCL Hewlett Packard Limited, Perot Systems (India) Limited and HCL Corporation Ltd in his career of over 31 years. In 2007, CP was nominated for the Entrepreneur of the Year Award bestowed by Ernst & Young.
