Part of (ISC)²’s global Awards Program, ISLA aims to recognise the ongoing commitment by information security leaders in Asia-Pacific who have significantly enhanced the workforce by demonstrating a leadership role in an information security workforce improvement initiative, program or project. The Guest of Honour, Honourable Jejomar C. Binay, Vice President of the Republic of the Philippines, together with (ISC)2 executives, will celebrate the workforce achievements of top information security professionals from Asia-Pacific.

“We congratulate all honourees and supporting committees as their passion to protect goes beyond their daily jobs. They invest their time and energy to mentor and educate those around them. According to our latest Global Information Security Workforce Study, information security is both an intellectually and financially rewarding profession. At the same time, we are experiencing a global talent shortage. We hope that by recognising pioneers and visionaries through the ISLA program, we are helping to inspire a strong future generation of information security professionals,” said W. Hord Tipton, CISSP-ISSEP, CAP, CISA, Executive Director of (ISC)². “The success of the ISLA program would not be possible without the continued support of the (ISC)² Asian Advisory Board members, to whom I extend my deepest appreciation. They have committed their time and effort to the Nomination Review Committee, which provides a balance of geographical representation, to objectively select the ISLA honourees.”

Accepting the recognition, Chella Namasivayam M, Chief Information Officer, iGATE, said, “I feel deeply honoured to receive such an important recognition. We, at iGATE, thank the jury and (ISC)² for crediting the efforts made in successful accomplishment of our project, “Amalgamating Elements of the Data Privacy Framework in Existing Information Security Management System”, by this accolade. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to my team at iGATE who made it possible. This project was very unique in nature because of diversified obligations in various geographies and expectations of iGATE’s customers and employees in perspective of privacy and handling of personal information. These challenges along with others were overcome by the co-operation, co-ordination and determination of the team. And this award recognises iGATE’s excellence in governing privacy”.
