CA's New Recovery Software

CA has introduced a new recovery management solution that combines continuous data protection (CDP), business continuity (BC) and disaster recovery (DR) capabilities to provide users with uninterrupted access to critical business information.

The BrightStor ARCserve Backup/WANSyncHA Bundle integrates the XOsoft WANSync and XOsoft disaster recovery testing solutions with CA’s BrightStor ARCserve Backup. It is said to enable a range of recovery management best practices including rapid backup to all forms of storage media, replication of data to remote servers, and testing of the recoverability of key business applications and data.

According to CA, many companies have been reluctant to adopt CDP because it only addresses part of their overall recovery management requirements. However, by integrating CDP with multiple data protection, business continuity and disaster recovery technologies, customers can have timely recovery of e-mail, database and other business applications across diverse storage infrastructures.
