Canon continues to address the needs of businesses of all sizes with the offering of eCopy ShareScan software for use with its Multi-Function Devices (MFDs). The ShareScan family of products include ShareScan Essentials – an automated document imaging software that enhances workgroup productivity; and ShareScan Suite – an enterprise document imaging solution for business process efficiency.
When used with Canon’s MFDs, eCopy’s ShareScan enables users of a workgroup or enterprise network to turn paper documents into digital files, which can then be distributed down the hall or around the world over the corporate network or the Internet. It acts as a bridge between paper and electronic workflows to seamlessly integrate other critical business applications and back-end systems of the enterprise.
ShareScan’s intuitive graphical user interface allows businesses to implement solutions that require little training as they are easy to support. It also provides an information security feature by way of

eCopy ShareScan Essentials provides secure document scanning and distribution that improves workgroup productivity. When used together with Canon MFDs, users can capture paper documents securely and distribute them as PDF files, thereby enhancing group access to information. The software allows scanning to several destinations, such as e-mails, fax, network folders and eCopy desktop, with a touch of a single button.
ShareScan Essentials is especially suited for institutions whose business viability is highly dependent on information confidentiality. Features such as document audit trail capabilities and document encryptions are built into the software. It effectively helps institutions to manage risks associated with paper documents by easily identifying the documents which were scanned, the day and time they were scanned, the person scanning them and to whom they were distributed.
