Protecting sensitive documents from unauthorised duplication is a growing concern in our business environment. Counterfeit copies of documents such as bills, tickets and invoices etc. can have serious financial impacts. Keeping this in mind, Xerox India has introduced a suite of fraud-resistant specialty imaging solutions for static and variable job digital printing. These fraud-resistant specialty imaging solutions from Xerox are developed to add an extra level of security and authentication to protect sensitive documents from unauthorised duplication. These specialty imaging text effects can only be printed with a Free Flow digital front end in combination with Free Flow software – any other print server will print them as normal text.
Xerox’s newly launched specialty imaging solutions that are currently available include:
MicroText: The MicroText Specialty Imaging Font, a 1/100th of an inch which is readable only with a loupe or magnifying glass. This has been designed to provide additional security to help make valuable documents such as personal information like birth certificates, personal identification papers, credit cards and checks etc, even harder to forge. This MicroText innovation from Xerox is compatible with colour, monochrome, and highlight colour digital equipment presses.
Correlation Marks: Correlation Marks provide a simple method to protect and track documents. Based in digital screening technology, Correlation Marks take advantage of spatial correlations in halftone screens to create a self-authenticating, secure document containing an invisible, hidden image. With the help of Correlation Mark technology, the user can hide an invisible image during the printing process with no alteration to the original image. As the hidden mark is inserted during the printing process, each copy of a document can have a unique hidden image. This technology provides an extra level of authentication for documents such as lottery tickets, invitations, and other documents requiring an authenticity check. This technology is compatible with colour, monochrome, and highlight colour Xerox Digital equipments.
Glossmark: Xerox Glossmark technology is a ‘watermarking’ technology that exhibits a special visual effect by creating different levels of gloss within an image. The Glossmark is an image or pattern embedded in an existing image without the need for special toners or paper. Similar to traditional watermarks, embedded Glossmarks can be easily observed without the assistance of special devices, yet cannot be deleted or reproduced by conventional scanning or copying. Xerox’s Glossmark technology provides added security features to documents at print time. It helps tackle counterfeiting and fraud by embedding a hologram-like image onto the surface of the printout. This creates a tamper-proof document and guarantees its authenticity. The Glossmark is visible to the eye, but cannot be reproduced on a copy of the original.
FluorescentMark: Printed text that is only visible under UV/ black-light that enables to protect sensitive documents like concert tickets, admission passes, and retail promotions. FluorescentMark is compatible with only Xerox Digital colour equipments.
InfraredMark Specialty Imaging Font: This font is only visible in the dark, with an infrared camera. It does not require special ink, but is printed with ordinary toner, the ‘dry ink’ that forms xerographic images. It can be produced on standard Xerox digital systems using standard papers. In addition, if the document is copied or altered, the infrared text will become substantially distorted under infrared light and therefore illegible. InfraredMark technology complements existing Xerox specialty imaging effects, such as MicroText marks and Glossmark text. The InfraredMark technology protects sensitive documents like admission passes and promotions. This innovation from Xerox is compatible with Xerox Colour Digital Equipments.
