SecurEnvoy To Offer Tokenless Security Solutions

SecurEnvoy, a provider of mobile phone-based two-factor authentication solutions, has announced its aggressive foray into Indian markets with the announcement of a national level distribution agreement with Lancers e-Risk Solutions.

“SecurEnvoy’s solutions are designed for companies that need high levels of security, but don’t want the hassle and cost of using separate security tokens, smartcards or USB keys,” said Steve Watts, sales director at SecurEnvoy. “We believe Lancers e-Risk Solutions carries the requisite credentials to help us establish a strong footprint in India.”

SecurEnvoy’s flagship product, SecurAccess, enables remote workers to sign in securely to corporate networks from anywhere in the world, using their mobile phones for authentication. Instead of relying on tokens or smartcards, users are sent a passcode to their mobile phone, which they use in conjunction with their Microsoft user ID and password to log on to the network. Once a passcode has been used, it is superseded with a new one sent to the phone.

The use of mobile phones for two-factor authentication is also an integral element of SecurEnvoy’s SecurMail and SecurPassword solutions. SecurMail allows users of Microsoft Outlook to send and receive e-mail using two-factor authentication, encryption and SSL technology, allowing the sender to have complete confidence that only the intended recipient can read the email. SecurPassword enables Microsoft Windows domain users to reset their own password if it is forgotten. They simply enter their Windows logon ID into a dedicated website, answer a configurable security question and enter the pre-loaded passcode from their phone, which enables them to select a new password. Also available is SecurICE, SecurEnvoy’s service that means companies can enable users to access the corporate network securely if they can’t get in to work in an emergency situation.

“In a token-based security environment, users often end up paying exorbitant sums of money for data security hardware,” said Watts. “With SecurEnvoy token-less two factor authentication solutions, enterprises, in addition to implementing a multi-layered approach to enterprise security, have also been known to save 60 percent or more over other available hardware alternatives,” he added.

“With organisations increasingly providing remote access to enterprise networks, ERP and other applications through mobile/ smartphones, there is an increasing demand for multi-level security cover to protect the enterprise IT-enabled infrastructure from malicious activity,” said Nitin Kathuria, director-Operations and Strategy, Lancers e-Risk Solutions. “As a pioneer in mobile phone -based tokenless authentication solutions, SecurEnvoy offers an impressive suite of security applications ideally suited to the needs of Indian enterprises. We are extremely bullish about customer demand for SecurEnvoy solutions in India,” he added.
