Network Access Control Market Worth $3.9 Billion By '08

A recent report by Research & Consultancy Outsourcing Services (RNCOS) has estimated that that the worldwide Network Access Control (NAC) market will increase from $323 Million in 2005 to a whopping $3.9 Billion come 2008.

The study revealed that due to an incessant rise in the number of malware infections and cyber threats, more and more organizations are beginning to invest in security measures such as NAC to fortify the corporate network.

NAC is essentially the framework that enforces security policy compliance on every device seeking access to network.

A NAC system proactively scans each end point device such as PCs, PDAs and smart phones before granting access to the corporate network. Upon detecting a possible threat, it automatically sends the user to a quarantined area for remediation.

The RNCOS study also found that an increasing number of companies are also using access control systems as a way to comply with Federal and state laws in some parts of the world.
