Fortify Software Announces Agreement To Acquire Secure Software

Fortify Software, a provider of software security products that span the software development lifecycle, recently announced a definitive agreement to acquire Secure Software.

The acquisition of Secure Software extends Fortify’s position in the software security market by expanding its worldwide customer base.

The acquisition of Secure Software’s technology, including its rights to CLASP (Comprehensive, Lightweight Application Security Process), expands Fortify’s reach into the requirements & design phases of the software development lifecycle. It further strengthens Fortify’s integration with IBM products, specifically the Rational Unified Process (RUP).

“Secure Software’s technology protects some of the world’s most important enterprises including CA and the Depository Trust and Clearing Corp. (DTCC),” said John M. Jack, CEO, Fortify Software. “Our customer growth is driving the expansion of our team and Secure Software’s people have the software security expertise to hit the ground running.”

Under the terms of the agreement, Fortify Software will acquire certain intellectual property, capital assets, and skilled resources belonging to Secure Software, for an undisclosed amount. Secure Software customers will be provided with the full range of support and professional services that Fortify’s customers currently use.
