Amit Yoran replaces Art Coviello as new RSA president

RSA, the security company controlled by storage giant EMC, has named Amit Yoran as president. Yoran replaces Art Coviello, who has stepped down as the company’s president.

Yoran, who most recently served as RSA’s senior vice president of products, has been a driving force behind RSA’s Intelligence Driven Security strategy and aligning the company’s product portfolio to meet the new and emerging security challenges facing enterprises today, the company said.
In his new role, Yoran will take responsibility for delivering a unified customer experience across products, marketing, sales and services.

We have the vision, the products and services, and the talent to deliver the Intelligence Driven Security that helps enable enterprises to communicate, collaborate, and innovate securely. Art Coviello, who remains RSA’s executive chairman, will work with Yoran to continue driving RSA’s strategic direction.

With more than 20 years of cyber security expertise, Yoran, prior to RSA, founded and served as the CEO of NetWitness, which was acquired by RSA in 2011, and CEO of Riptech, which was acquired by Symantec in 2002, where he served as VP of worldwide managed security services.

He previously served as the founding director of the US Computer Emergency Response Team and as a founding member of the US Department of Defense’s CERT program.
