Japan-based semiconductor player Renesas is becoming increasingly aggressive about the Indian semiconductor market. Realising the importance of India as an important outsourcing base and sales market, it plans to quadruple its sales within four years, in a bid to gain solid ground in the microcomputer unit market. Despite a fairly low visibility in the Indian market, Renesas is committed to increasing its sales and in a step in that direction, has started outsourcing semiconductor software and hardware design to KPIT in India.
