HCL, nCore Team Up

HCL Technologies and nCore, a provider of solutions for embedded environment, have announced an alliance to develop joint technology to provide complete solution to customers in the embedded market space.

The partnership will focus on delivering usable applications as well as providing easy to use interface for the development of embedded software.

HCL Technologies has developed the smart Graphic User Interface (GUI) toolkit called EmPresent, which claims to reduce cost and accelerate time to market. With HCL EmPresent’s Visual Editor and nCore’s nScript, software developers will have the flexibility to opt amongst the default fonts rendering engine of EmPresent and nScript multilingual software plug-in.

Shailesh K Gupta, product manager and business head, EmPresent, HCL Technologies, stated, “The product integration with font rendering technology from nCore and a GUI Library EmPresent has strengthened our strategy to provide 3rd party integrated solutions in embedded domain to our global customers in different industries like kiosks, industrial automation and handheld devices.”

According to Tapio Koivuniemi, CEO, nCore, “nScript enables the development of user interfaces in complex languages like Hindi, Bengali, Malayalam, Marathi, Tamil, Punjabi and Arabic. With the integrated solution, customers are now able to access all these markets using native language in both text input and output.”
