According to the latest IDC Asia Pacific Quarterly Disk Storage Systems Tracker Q42008, March 2009, EMC was the leading provider of external disk storage systems in 2008 in India.
EMC leads the India external disk market with a 23.28 percent market share on the basis of factory revenues of $56.81 million. In addition to being number one in revenue, EMC led the market in terms of the capacity shipped as per the analyst report.
EMC has also emerged number one in the Network Storage market for CY2008 with 27.38 percent market share. The Network Storage market includes the NAS, Fibre Channel SAN and iSCSI SAN.
Alok Ohrie, president of EMC India, said, “EMC’s broad portfolio of information infrastructure solutions is meeting customers’ needs and this has translated into EMC’s market leadership in 2008 in both external storage hardware and storage software markets.”
Today, EMC has over 1,200 customers in India from the enterprise, commercial and SMB market segments.
