Dell, a computer-hardware company, has launched storage systems designed for primary storage and backup for the SMBs. Dell/EMC also offers CX3-10, an entry-level storage area network (SAN) array. The array supports iSCSI and Fibre Channel hosts, extending the reach of enterprise-class UltraScale architecture for SMBs.
Dell/EMC CX3-10 will simplify storage operations for failover and management, and offer all-SATA drive configuration for customers seeking bulk storage. iSCSI-based SANs will provide advantages over traditional Fibre Channel SANs.
“Small and medium businesses today are seeing the same challenge of managing significant data growth with flat budgets that large businesses started to see a few years ago. Our mission is to help customers balance this equation,” said Rajan Anandan, VP and general manager, Dell India.
Dell has introduced two new tape libraries “PowerVault TL2000 and PowerVault TL4000 within its PowerVault line, to provide data protection and benefits of tape automation held by autoloaders.
The Dell/EMC CX3-10 and the PowerVault tape libraries, when used in conjunction will enable SMB customers to consolidate storage environments.
