Amdocs, the provider of customer experience systems and services, has announced the performance results for virtualised, real-time charging. Tested in a production-like environment, the solution demonstrated carrier-grade charging performance, with a five millisecond latency and sub-second failover (switching between servers) to ensure business continuity. The results show that service provider mission-critical, real-time charging processes, supporting millions of subscribers, can run in virtualised environments.
Conducted at Amdocs’ labs, the benchmark ran Amdocs Convergent Charging using VMware vSphere2, VMware’s virtualisation solution. Amdocs and VMwareworked together to develop the testing methodology and to deliver carrier-grade, virtualised real-time charging.
