KLG Systel Launches Energy Management Platform

KLG Systel Ltd has launched the CG3.10 Series Energy Management System Platform under its brand ConnectGaia. Powered by the Intel Atom processor and supported by Intel Hyper Threading technology, the ConnectGaia platform provides Energy Management Solutions that allow efficient management of complex power-consuming devices, thereby providing financial and environmental benefits.

The ConnectGaia platform is an energy management system that allows power consumers to measure, visualise, analyse and control remote systems such as water pumps in the field, in real-time. The ConnectGaia system, based on the Intel Atom processor, leverages advanced metering, wireless sensors, IP communication and a robust IT backbone to bring intelligence into electricity consumption. The platform provides consumers with information on their electricity usage to help them visualise their consumption patterns during peak hours. This will help identify potential opportunities to reduce utility bills, whilst relieving some of the burden on power plants and distribution lines.

“We have used the Intel Atom processor to create a state-of-the art energy management system platform which provides enhanced web-enabled visualisation, analysis and control of a remote system from a single board,” said Kumud Goel, Managing Director, KLG Systel Ltd.

“The Intel Atom processor is a low-power, high performance solution ideal for embedded applications such as KLG Systel’s CG3.10 Energy Management Platform. With the KLG Systel platform, customers will enjoy a seamless always on, always connected experience with built-in security,” said Sanat Rao, Marketing Director (Emerging Markets), Embedded and Communications Group, Intel South Asia.

The ConnectGaia solution has an in-built digital switch, which can be used to remotely switch equipment on or off, depending on each user’s unique requirements. This feature can turn off equipment when not needed. The platform also includes a ‘scheduler’, which allows scheduling of equipment operation to optimise power usage. The device provides the user with alerts in instances of abnormal behaviour of a particular electrical or process device. The platform also provides the consumer with reports to compare energy consumption between different days, weeks or months, perform load forecasting and schedule operations to optimise their energy usage.
