Atos Chooses SAP To Accelerate Its Sustainability Strategy

Atos, an international IT services company, and SAP have announced that Atos will rely on the SAP BusinessObjects Sustainability Performance Management application to help achieve its sustainability goals. The solution will help Atos gather data from across the company regarding its sustainability performance, providing insight into how well the company is faring against those goals. Atos also offers services for sustainability solutions from SAP to customers worldwide.

With SAP Business Objects Sustainability Performance Management, Atos can more quickly, cost-effectively collect relevant information, compile disclosures and create reports that help ensure its operations map to corporate social responsibility objectives. Atos plans to go live with the application in early 2012, rolling out reporting to sites across 42 countries. This project will strengthen a key ethos of Atos corporate responsibility program: to be an exemplar and enabler of innovative sustainability solutions by showing how companies can use IT to accelerate the results of sustainability programs.

STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD

Atos is the first IT services companies to join the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI),an organisation that has developed a recognised sustainability reporting framework considered the industry standard. Establishing key performance indicators (KPIs) and reporting standards in accordance with GRI protocols, Atos’ reporting has already fulfilled the GRI requirements at the top A+ level. Using SAP solutions will allow Atos to automate its global sustainability management and reporting operations, giving them more frequent updates, allowing them to cascade goals throughout the organisation and analyse data in real time.

As part of Atos’ commitment to a future where businesses demonstrate responsibility toward society and the environment, the company has also developed a services practice focused on sustainability. A global partner of SAP, Atos offers a quick-start solution for SAP Business Objects Sustainability Performance Management, helping customers better manage their own sustainability programs with improved visibility, tracking and reporting against objectives. Atos also offers SAP solutions to help companies assess and mitigate their carbon impact and reduce environmental, health and safety risks.

“We believe that IT is a key engine for sustainable growth and progress for companies, organisations and society at large, and strive to become a ‘Firm of the Future,’” said Philippe Mareine, EVP general secretary, in charge of Corporate and Social Responsibility at Atos. “That’s why our partnership with SAP is so significant. Our shared vision to improve the sustainability of both our internal operations and those of our customers is perfectly matched. With SAP solutions, we can proactively monitor and manage the group’s key environmental and social indicators across our sites worldwide, so we can accelerate our strategic commitments to green operations and employees’ well-being at work,” he said.
