Team Computers, the IT solutions provider, has been chosen to partner with international conglomerate Punj Lloyd Group, to cater to their IT needs.
Punj Lloyd Group is a diversified international conglomerate offering EPC services in Energy and Infrastructure along with engineering and manufacturing capabilities in the defence sector. They have opted for Team Computers for enhanced management of servers as well as efficient email and systems on a cloud platform.
With a turnover of US $1.8 billion the Punj Lloyd group has a growing workforce of 27,000 workers spread across different geographies. This expanding business has led to an incremental increase in costs. “While evaluating cloud service providers, we were primarily concerned with finding an archiving and managing solution. The cost of maintaining email database and AMC was constantly going up,” said Atul Kumar, Group CIO, Punj Lloyd Group. “The existing messaging system was an expensive proposition and required lots of backend management efforts across global locations,” he further added.
Key features of this project included existing Lotus data migration, training and change management as well as integration with DLP for compliance policy. Team Computers implemented Google Apps email and collaboration platform for 4500 employees scattered across India and abroad by adapting a three phase deployment approach.

The upgraded the email technology to cloud gives ease of access and centralised administrative control as well as facilitate server management and AMC. The mailbox size increased up to 25GB, whereas maintenance and backup went to Google, hence ensuring a 99.99 percent uptime and availability from anywhere in the world, giving Punj Lloyd complete scalability with focus on increasing employee productivity.
