The company which started out by manufacturing line drivers and modems has come a long way since its beginnings in the eighties. MRO-TEK, which has many telecom operators and ISPs in its client list, is hoping to cash in on the growing popularity of data rich, interactive services among the customers.

According to S.Narayanan, chairman and managing director, MRO-TEK, “The worldwide data communications market is on an upswing and is likely to remain that way for some time to come. The average revenue per user (ARPU) from the conventional voice based services is depleting at a quick pace. As a result of this, telecom operators world over are beginning to offer feature rich data services such as internet, music and video in addition to conventional telephony service to compensate for the receding revenues from the voice based services.”

“This is where we see a huge market opportunity for us. Our strength lies in providing last mile access to telecom services providers and we are well positioned to offer our products to these operators to help them cater to their customer needs,” said Narayanan.

In addition to this, the liberalized policy framework in the ISP, basic and cellular service market is also lending support to players like MRO-TEK’s cause.

The company also relies on its manufacturing abilities when it comes to delivering solutions and views it as an added advantage in comparison to others. With three manufacturing facilities where it designs and manufactures it’s own products, MRO-TEK values its “in-house” capabilities greatly.

“We are one of the few companies in this space to have manufacturing facilities of our own. In addition to allowing us build specialized products which address specific market needs, it also increases our customer’s faith in us wherein they can count on our delivery efficiency and localized technical support,” added Narayanan.
