BO Releases Universal Data Cleanse

Business Objects has released Universal Data Cleanse (UDC), a new option from BusinessObjects Data Quality XI Release 2.

UDC claims to eliminate knowledge shadows caused by non-customer or regional-specific data duplication or discrepancies. Enterprises can obtain a single, panoramic view of their products, their supply chains, or other key information. In addition, UDC supports mixed language product description, allowing for greater data integrity.

According to the release, the UDC option in BusinessObjects Data Quality XI Release 2 seamlessly integrates with the data quality product suite, allowing customers to take advantage of additional functionality. The collaboration between the UDC option and Business Objects Data Insight claims to enhance process efficiencies between the business analyst and IT user. Using these products in tandem allows business analysts to conduct ongoing contextual analysis of input/output and directly add, modify, or delete product classifications. Those changes can then be directly loaded into UDC for the IT user to incorporate into the data cleansing cycle.

“Through our Universal Data Cleanse solution, we allow enterprises to transform their data and themselves in the desired direction, not one constrained by functional limitations,” said Pascal Clement, vice president of EIM at Business Objects. “We aim to completely eliminate data shadows and remove doubt surrounding our customers’ critical information. Business Objects knows that unparalleled business performance requires a panoramic view of data and Universal Data Cleanse gives enterprises exactly that.”
