Blue Coat a secure content and application delivery provider announced its strategy and technology to extend enterprise security, control and performance to users irrespective of their location through its solution SG Client. As more employees are working outside the corporate office, it is critical to give them the same protection and experience they would receive in the corporate headquarters.
Increasingly this must be done on both computing devices that are owned and managed by the company and those which are not, such as an employee’s home computer or an Internet kiosk at a hotel or airport. Ahmedabad based Virtual Netcomm is the value added distributor of Blue Coat in India.
Blue Coat SG Client extends corporate security policies to the user and applies WAN optimization acceleration technologies to ensure that important enterprise applications run effectively outside the corporate network. SG Client also protects data received from a corporate application by managing the use of functions such as printing and copying and by locking out any malicious spyware such as keyloggers or frame grabbers that may be lurking on the employee’s remote computer.
The client comes in two types: one that is permanently installed on the remote computer and another that installs on-demand when an employee connects to a corporate application or email. The on-demand version accommodates computing devices not owned or managed by the corporation and also provides a solution to companies not wanting to install client software.
The new client software solution integrates with Blue Coat’s current family of appliances to create a comprehensive architecture to ensure WAN application performance and security for all users in any location across the distributed enterprise.
