Blue Coat Systems, Inc., the Web security and WAN optimisation solutions provider, has introduced new updates for Blue Coat PacketShaper appliances that enables Indian businesses to fully embrace Web, cloud and mixed-use recreational applications on the corporate network while providing a high quality user experience for maximum employee productivity.

Ambarish Deshpande, Managing Director-India Sales, Blue Coat Systems said, “The latest advances for PacketShaper appliances provide visibility into Web applications and operations as well as the group and user-level policies that allow businesses to gain control over the shadow IT infrastructures that arise from the introduction of applications onto the corporate network without IT’s knowledge.”

He added that Indian employees are increasingly looking to Web and cloud-based applications to increase their productivity, yet IT typically cannot see or control these applications. As a result, they can consume a disproportionate amount of corporate bandwidth and impact the performance of other mission-critical applications.

“Asia Pacific and India are our fastest growth markets for Packet Shaper. We have achieved tremendous success selling our Packet Shaper in Asia Pacific, and are looking forward to expanding our Indian business significantly with this new release,” Ambarish said.

He also noted that Indian businesses are increasingly leveraging cloud and web-based applications in their IT environment to make their businesses more competitive and productive.

“With this new Packet Shaper release, Indian businesses can ensure high quality cloud and web-based applications across their distributed enterprises, embracing new social networking applications, Bring Your Own Devices (BYOD) and mobile applications,” he added.
