Avnet Technology Solutions has signed a distribution agreement with IBM that will allow its channel partners to sell IBM software solutions in the Indian marketplace. The distribution agreement enables Avnet and its channel partners to accelerate the delivery of IBM software, including its Tivoli Service Management and Information Management portfolio that are currently fuelling growth in India.
G Balakrishnan, managing director, Avnet Technology Solutions, Partner Solutions Division, India, said, "This further strengthens our global relationship with IBM, in which Avnet and IBM are seen as key partners when it comes to solutions distribution. In India, we already have a distribution agreement for IBM hardware, so this new agreement will now give us a competitive advantage in the market place. We will now be able to offer our channel partners the complete IBM storage, server and software products".

IBM offers solutions in transaction processing, messaging, data management, information in all of its forms, application development, systems management and social software and Avnet's appointment will help the growing channel community in capturing new clients for these solutions in existing and new markets.
