Aricent has announced the launch of its first ever voice call continuity (VCC) server solution – the Aricent Service Continuity Server, SCS. The Aricent SCS enables mobile devices to seamlessly switch between wireless and wireline networks and can be used by service providers or OEMs with IMS-enabled fixed mobile convergence products.
The Aricent SCS allows users to enjoy the convenience of a single personal mobile device that works in the home, the office or on the road across circuit switched (GSM, 3GPP) and packet switched (IMS, pre-IMS VoIP) networks. Aricent SCS will also support multimedia applications to expand connectivity options.
Some of the features of the Aricent SCS include 3GPP standards-based for voice call continuity and interoperability, flexible service roll-out design with pre-IMS and IMS-enabled configurations, and Instant Messaging (IM) and Push-to-Talk (PTT) on dual mode access.
