NDTV Convergence, the online arm of NDTV and Affle, a mobile media company, have announced their partnership through which Affle would power advertising on NDTV’s mobile portal – NDTV Active.
Given that the mobile Internet universe today is estimated to be higher than the PC-based Internet universe in India, NDTV Active has ensured that it gives NDTV a boost by leveraging its extensive programming assets to provide users anytime, anywhere access to personalised services, content, and promotions on their mobile phones. This partnership with Affle would now ensure that NDTV Convergence creates significant revenues from monetising the growing traffic on NDTV Active.
Sanjay Trehan, CEO, NDTV Convergence, said, “We believe that this partnership will be a springboard to capture wider, more engaged audiences and maximise financial growth on the mobile platform. Affle has a good team, superior technology, innovative ad formats and an understanding of the mobile market.”
He added, “Mobile has become a critical part of our digital strategy. NDTV Convergence is committed to providing consumers with a user-friendly interface, creating a mechanism for discussion and feedback. With a global recession and more requirements for successful RoI, we are only expecting to see a growing investment in mobile marketing in 2009.”
Anuj Kumar, the Executive Director (South Asia), Affle said, “We are excited to partner with NDTV to power advertising on NDTV Active and monetise the growing number of eyeballs on it with relevant advertising. With this partnership, we are confident of offering enhanced value to our advertiser partners and also creating a significant revenue opportunity for NDTV.”
