Adobe, Learning Links Expand E-Learning Program

Adobe and Learning Links, a non-profit organisation, has announced an expansion of their collaboration to promote e-learning in the Indian education sector using Adobe Presenter. Adobe Presenter is a simple tool that helps teachers create interactive eLearning content with ease, including multimedia elements and quizzes. Having impacted about 100 teachers to date, the program is set to expand across the country and train over 400 teachers, impacting lives of about 6,000 students.

ICT in Education and the use of technology tools in day-to-day teaching and learning practices have gained significant importance in the recent past, especially in state run government schools of various states in India. However, one of the major challenges of ICT usage in classroom is the lack of readiness in teachers to develop appropriate and effective e-learning content that is customised to their classrooms. Learning Links Foundation, with support from Adobe India, attempted to address this issue by training teachers to develop their own e-learning and teaching content using Adobe Presenter tool. The program involved training government school’s teachers with advanced technology tools to develop subject specific content for immediate classroom usage and integration

Adobe India donated Adobe Presenter software kits to schools to support this initiative. In addition, Learning Links Foundation and experts from Adobe volunteered their time to train teachers from eight selected schools across India.

Empowered with the trainings, the teachers are now able to create instructional videos and interactive e-learning courses with ease. They are now able to take their PowerPoint slides and transform them into interactive and video-based eLearning courses. The teachers are using these videos and e-learning courses in numerous ways for the benefit of the students, including revision of their lessons. Additionally, they are able to monitor their students’ progress through the analytics tools anywhere and anytime. Apart from enriching the subject knowledge, there is significant improvement in collaborative learning and problem solving amongst the students.

Based on the significant and fast impact of the initiative, Learning Links Foundation is now keen to implement the same project in other schools across India to reach out to a large group of students.

Nuriya Ansari, Vice President, Learning Links Foundation said, “There is a growing need for use of technology tools in day-to-day teaching and learning practices to make the process more interactive. However, the biggest challenge that remains in India is the lack of appropriate e-learning content for students. Adobe Presenter is an effective tool which has helped our teachers in creating the right content. We are glad that our partnership with Adobe has been very successful and we looking forward to extend this program for greater impact.”
