Acision Powers Advanced Messaging & Charging At Tata Teleservices

Tata Teleservices, a dual technology telecom service provider, has selected Acision SMSC, Acision MMSC, Acision Business Tools, and Acision’s mobile data charging solution for its brands – Tata Indicom (CDMA services) and Tata DOCOMO (GSM services).

Tata Teleservices wanted to work with a strategic partner to provide value-added services that would support the service provider in realising the revenue potential sitting in both its networks. As Tata’s incumbent messaging supplier since 2004, Acision was selected because of its ability to offer high-performance, scalable mobile data solutions that are focused on supporting Tata Teleservices current and future business strategy and help its services stand out in an increasingly competitive Indian market.

The new contract includes capacity expansion on the Acision SMSC and Acision MMSC, with the aim of increasing Tata’s text and multimedia messaging traffic volumes by up to 90 percent. Tata Teleservices will also have the ability to view information and report on data usage and performance across all its messaging services with Acision Business Tools. In addition, the company will deploy advanced, real-time rating and charging with Acision’s mobile data charging solution giving the operator access to accurate account information. This will also give Tata Teleservices the control to reduce exposure to revenue leakage and secure the network against the threat of prepaid fraud.

“Partnering with Acision has given Tata Teleservices a competitive advantage in messaging VAS space over its competitors,” said A G Rao, Chief Technology Officer and President, Enterprise Business, Tata Teleservices.

“Analysing data in real time, using Acision Business Tools, will help us serve the customer more efficiently. Today, those businesses that operate in real-time using predictive technology methods lead the way in winning customer loyalty and customer satisfaction. While selecting a partner for deploying messaging solutions on our GSM network, we were confident that Acision was the right technology partner to replicate the success that we achieved using their tools on our CDMA network. With Acision’s innovation and experience, Tata Teleservices is on track to establish itself as a leading telecom network provider in India,” Rao said.
