10 things the Government should ban instead of #IndiasDaughter

We’ve been hearing the word “ban” very often in the past week, from beef to the controversial BBC documentary. To a point where there are active discussions about what is going to be banned next:

what next, ban youtube?

— Karan Arora (@KaranArora) March 5, 2015

Bet on what the next ban will be before they ban betting.

STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD

However, the world would be a more lovely place if we could impose bans on the following things: 1. Moral Police Recently it was announced by the Hindu Mahasabha that if anyone posts “I love you” on Facebook, they would be married off. A lot of outrage on the web apart, some people decided to announce their love for celebrities so that a marriage would be in order.

2. Littering, peeing on the streets [caption id=“attachment_1672969” align=“alignnone” width=“380”] ![littering-urinating-afp](https://images.firstpost.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/littering-urinating-afp.jpg) Seen on the streets. Image by AFP.[/caption] It’s time to allocate public advertisement to stop littering and peeing on the streets. Would you pee or litter in your own homes? Is stopping men and women from being friends more important than public hygiene? 3. Typin lyk dis If you’ve passed school, and haven’t cheated on your English exam, it’s time to wake up and smell the coffee. MSN messenger is long gone. 4. Unskippable ads on Youtube Nothing is more frustrating than waiting for an ad to finish on Youtube, without being given the option to skip it. What if I don’t want to know how to keep my hair shiny and moisture-filled? 5. Firecrackers [caption id=“attachment_1762819” align=“alignnone” width=“300”] ![Image courtesy: AFP](https://images.firstpost.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/10/Firecrackers_AFP-300x169.jpg) Image courtesy: AFP[/caption] We all know the circumstances under which these cracker are made, and we also know its impact on the enviornment. Bursting crackers on Diwali is bad enough, but we need to stop lighting phooljadis when India wins against UAE. Give the environment a break, and celebrate by eating a cupcake. 6. Fraaandship requests 2001 called. It wants the extra a’s back. I can’t be your friend just because you said, “hey nyc pic.”   7. Plastic Some states have banned the use of plastic bags but we still use so much plastic in our daily lives. From bottles, to magazine covers to screen guards, literally everything is made of plastic. 8. KRK on twitter He’s sleazy, creepy and annoying on twitter and make unnecessary sexual jibes at female celebrities. He’s the real threat, because he’s also slightly delusional.

9. Saas-Bahu shows [caption id=“attachment_2138447” align=“alignnone” width=“380”] ![mqdefault](https://images.firstpost.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/mqdefault.jpg) Youtube grab of Saat Phere: Saloni ka Safar, a show about a dark-skinned girl.[/caption] Maybe it’s addictive, leaving you just at the hook, but most shows on tv right now are regressive and promote unfair stereotypes. Waiting for the day when a dark-skinned girl isn’t considered an anomaly. 10. Smelly snacks on flights and trains If you’re one of those who like to carry a snack while travelling, know that anything with eggs, garlic and salted oil with stink up the entire place. Snack carefully. (and don’t litter)
