Maruti’s challenger to the Hyundai Creta has just broken cover and we’ve already driven both the cars to see how good a chance they stand against the EcoSport and Duster which are clear hits in this segment.
While the S-Cross diesel is sold in the 1.6-litre configuration globally, Maruti offers it here in India with a 1.3-litre diesel unit too. We drove the 1.6-litre variant and found that its ride quality and fun to drive nature make a decent case for it. And the features packed into the S-Cross get it some extra brownie points - the top end trims get keyless entry, auto HID lamps, rain sensing wipers, reverse camera with parking sensors, navigation system, Bluetooth calling, steering mounted controls and much more. The car looks very much the same as the international version with LED DRLs, leather upholstery, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system and alloy wheels.
Scroll down to get a better look at what the S-Cross and its currents contenders have to offer on paper. Stay tuned for more stories - including a comparison with the Euro-spec S-Cross and a comprehensive image gallery.
