Round 2 of MMSC FMSCI Indian National Motorcycle Racing Championship concludes

Round 2 of the MMSC FMSCI Indian National Motorcycle Racing Championship ended on Sunday at the MMRT track in Sriperumbudur which celebrated its silver jubilee this year.

In the Group B 165cc Open class, TVS Racing’s Jagan Kumar finished first on his RTR 160 with little difficulty against fellow competitors such as Rajini Krishnan of Moto-Rev Yamaha and Harry Sylvester of TVS Racing who finished behind him in that order. Jagan swept up a lead by Turn-1 and slowly widened the gap during the race. He was quoted saying, “I had a good start and by the first corner, I was comfortably ahead. However, in the first three laps, I controlled the pace and was prepared to push, but I did not receive much of a challenge.”

On Day Two though, he had a stroke of bad luck with a flat tyre on his second lap, but managed to finish the race. Rajini grabbed this opportunity and placed first ahead of Harry Sylvester and Sarath Kumar of Ten10 Racing.

Vishwadev Muraleedharan won both the Group D 165cc Novice class races in Round 2 extending his victories from Round 1 in Coimbatore. In both races, he was followed by Amarnath Menon K of Apex Racing Academy.

In the one-make series Sumit Lucas Toppo won both races of the Honda One-Make Championship in the CBR250 Open Class after sweeping up quite an early lead from rival Sarath Kumar on Day Two.

Vishwadev Muraleedharan seemed to have quite a winning streak this weekend as he finished first in both races of the Suzuki Gixxer Cup in the Novice category in addition to his Group D victories.
