At the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show, Mini will unveil the second generation of the Clubman. Over the 5-door Mini Cooper, the Clubman measures 27cm longer, 9cm wider and has a wheelbase that is 10cm larger. The Clubman gets 360 litres of boot space that can be increased to 1250 litres thanks to the 40:20:40 rear-seat split.
The Clubman will be offered with three engine options featuring theTwinPower Turbo technology when it is launched in October 2015"two petrols and one diesel. On the Mini Cooper S Clubman, there will be a 4-cylinder petrol engine making 192PS and delivering a claimed fuel efficiency of close to 16kmpl. The Mini Cooper D Clubman will run a 150PS 4-cylinder diesel that has a claimed efficiency of around 22-24kmpl.
The expansion range of the engines to be offered will be presented at the Frankfurt Motor Show 2015. The other two engines that will be presented are 3-cylinder and 4-cylinder diesel mills. The one on the Mini One D Clubman is will make 116PS and is claimed to provide around 25-26kmpl. The most powerful diesel variant will be the 190PS mill on the Mini Cooper SD Clubman which has a claimed fuel economy of around 22kmpl.
The Clubman will get some features that are provided on a Mini for the first time. These include an electronic parking brake, an 8-speed Steptronic transmission (depending on the model), electric seat adjustment and the optional Mini Yours Interior Styles that provides backlit door bezels. Another new feature in the Clubman is the optional Comfort Access system that allows for the opening of the split rear doors without contact.
The company will also showcase the 3-door and 5-door Minis along with the latest Mini John Cooper Works. The Mini Countryman, the company’s first five-door car and the Paceman, the first Sports Activity Coupe in the segment, will also make an appearance.
