Hyundai has unveiled its Vision G concept at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show. This concept highlights Hyundai’s future design philosophy and also their technological developments. On the outside, the Hyundai Vision G gets muscular bulges all around to go with the overall aggressive look. Hyundai says, “The long hood, high-beltline and understated cabin present an appearance of tension, like a loaded slingshot.”
“Vision G is the first high-end premium coupe by Hyundai Motor. Despite its bold and powerful styling, the concept is purposefully understated, creating a balance of opulence and elegance that will resonate with customers who seek style without pretention,” said Peter Schreyer, the president and chief design officer of Hyundai Motor Company. “Vision G represents a fresh interpretation of Hyundai Motor’s characteristic approach of balancing design and performance, expressed in a way that isn’t overburdened with glitz and stereotypical luxury cues,” he added.
The interior features a very simple yet elegant layout with a mix of wood, leather, display units and no physical buttons. The Vision G previews Hyundai’s Remote Wheel in the centre console and a curved display unit. The Remote Wheel is a semi-sphere touchpad that supports touch and gesture interaction which can be used to browse through the information on the curved display located in the centre of the dash. The information on the curved display can be moved to the instrument cluster and vice-versa depending on the driver’s preferences.
The Vision G gets Hyundai’s 5.0-litre Tau V8 engine that is capable of 420PS and 519Nm of torque. This engine features high-pressure direct injection, an optimised intake runner, enhanced timing chain, a low-torque exhaust manifold, increased compression ratio and upgraded multiple-injection mapping. Additionally, the Vision G will get automatic doors, an autonomous driving system and a driver state monitoring function.
