Xiaomi website hints at launch of Redmi Note 5 on 14th February in the Indian market

Chinese smartphone and electronics giant Xiaomi may be planning to launch the next version of its **Redmi Note** series, the Redmi Note 5. [caption id=“attachment_4336195” align=“alignleft” width=“380”]Xiaomi invite. Xiaomi invite.[/caption] The company has not revealed any information about what new product it is launching at the event, but the hints are quite broad. According to a teaser tweet from Manu Kumar Jain, Global VP and Managing Director for Xiaomi India, the device is being referred to as ‘5’. Despite the teaser, it was unclear if the company is referring to the Redmi 5, Redmi 5 Plus or even to the Redmi Note 5. However, it may be possible that the company may have hinted about what device it is planning to launch on 14th. According to a report by Techook, the source code of the official Xiaomi website is referring to Redmi Note in the name of the files of the images used on the countdown timer. The report also points out that there was a ‘subdirectory’ with the name ‘redminote5’ on the event page on the official Xiaomi website. Xiaomi is planning to market the device with the tag “allrounder”, which was the tag used to describe the Redmi Note 4 last year. Multiple reports in past have stated that the device will come with a Xiaomi Mi Mix 2-like design along with a tall display with 18:9 aspect ratio.
