Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh government has suspended recovery of all revenue dues and cooperative bank loans from farmers in drought and flood-affected areas of the state. AFP[/caption] “Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav had yesterday night given directions to suspend recovery of all revenue dues and loans of cooperative banks from farmers in drought and flood-affected areas”, an official spokesman said in Lucknow on Monday. The instructions have also been issued to provide additional irrigation water through canals and installation of handpumps and providing seeds to farmers in drought-hit areas. The CM directed officers to prepare a demand for special package from Centre for drought-hit areas including waiving of farmers’ loans, financial assistance for damaged crops and other issues. PTI
