New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Tuesday dismissed a petition seeking CBI probe against former Law Minister Shanti Bhushan for allegedly evading stamp duty by undervaluing purchase of a property in Allahabad worth Rs 20 crore for Rs one lakh. The petitioner, M L Sharma, urged the apex court to issue appropriate direction for CBI to initiate probe against Bhushan. The former law Minister had earlier denied the charge saying their family had been a tenant in the house for over 70 years and had on their own paid duty much higher than what was claimed from them by government.
