Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi’s verified twitter account appears to have been hacked as tweets with obscene messages were seen on his timeline. Confirming the development, his office said efforts were being made to rectify the problem. Gandhi’s account was hacked around 8.45 pm and some messages with profanities were put out, but these were deleted soon thereafter. The name of the verified twitter handle “@OfficeOfRG” was also changed.
Meanwhile, Congress spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala called it an “unscrupulous, unethical and roguish conduct”. “Will lodge a formal complaint with cyber police, hope the government will show sincerity of purpose in investigating and punish them,” RS Surjewala told ANI.
Such unscrupulous, unethical&roguish conduct of venal trolls 2hack @OfficeOfRG reflects disturbing insecurities of prevalent fascist culture
