Lt Gen KJ Singh takes charge of Western Command

Chandimandir: Lieutenant General KJ Singh, AVSM, today took over as the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Western Command here in a simple ceremony.[caption id=“attachment_1645065” align=“alignleft” width=“380”]  Lt Gen KJ Singh. Image courtesy Indian Army [/caption] The GOC-in-C visited ‘Sarva Dharma Sthal’ and paid homage to the ‘martyrs’ at the ‘Veer Smriti’, according to a defence release in Chandimandir. He reviewed the Guard of Honor, which was presented by 63 Cavalry, his parent Regiment, which he has commanded. The General Officer is the Colonel of 63 Cavalry and 83 Armored Regiment. Gen Singh was commissioned in 63 Cavalry on 11 June 1977 and is an alumnus of the National Defence Academy and the Indian Military Academy. He has taken over the reins from Lt Gen Philip Campose, who has moved to the Army Head Headquarters, to take over as the Vice Chief of the Army Staff. PTI
