A press meet called by IAC activist Arvind Kejriwal to condemn alleged police brutality against IAC protestors, took a turn for the dramatic, when a former IAC member and Anna supporter, identified as Annie Kohli, accosted Kejriwal and asked him to reveal his true ambitions before the nation. Kejriwal was holding a press meet to condemn police action against a group of IAC members who had been protesting outside Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda’s Delhi residence. What are you doing about the land dealings of your associate Mayank Gandhi in Mumbai?” Kohli was heard asking. Later Kohli said that they would hold protests against Kejriwal in Jantar Mantar from tomorrow, and said Kejriwal ought to reveal his true face to the public. Kejriwal, however, said he did not know Kohli. “I don’t know her. I saw her for the first time. I came to answer their questions but there is no question. Every agitation has its strategy,” he said. The conference in question however, was called as at least seven IAC protestors sustained injuries and were taken to the Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital in Delhi. “Two people and some policemen were injured in the crackdown by police to disperse the crowd,” said a police official. The police used water canons when IAC supporters tried to enter Hooda’s house on Pandit Pant Marg in central Delhi. Kejriwal and his supporters all displayed wounds on their body which they claimed were caused by the Delhi police. He accused the police of manhandling the protesters. “We decided to protest against the Haryana government and the police manhandled us. They lathicharged us. All we wanted to do was talk about the land deals,” said Jindal. Jindal, however, added that the police brutality had further strengthened the IAC’s resolve to take their protests to the next level.
