Haryana singer Harshita Dahiya was shot dead by unknown assailants in Panipat on Tuesday evening, according to media reports.

According to a report in Dainik Bhaskar, four bullets were shot at her after which the assailants fled the spot. Her body has been kept at the Civil Hospital in Panipat. The Dainik edition of The Tribune reported that a case has been registered by the Haryana Police and they are yet to ascertain the motive behind the crime. “Nothing can be said as of now on the cause of the murder and the number of assailants. The teams are on the job to verify all facts of the crime,” SP Rahul Sharma was quoted as saying, according to the report.
