The cover up of sorts has began. The BMW belongs to one Devender Shehrawat, who runs a transport business in Gurgaon. But curiously, a man named Rajesh has claimed responsibility for the accident.

Gurgaon BMW crash: Another 'big money' cover-up?

She was a bubbly and outgoing girl. He was more reserved. Opposites attract, they say. Shailesh Shetye and Kshama Chopra met in the year 2000 when they both got admitted to the Symbiosis Institute of Business Management (SIBM), Pune. Both were new to the city. Shailesh from Goa and Kshama from Bhilai in Chhattisgarh. Through the year in SIBM, they grew closer and became what their friends called a ‘beautiful couple’. Being one of the brightest students of the batch, Shailesh would often help Kshama in her studies. By the time they graduated, cupid had struck. Families resisted. Love conquered. In 2002, they got married. In 2004, they shifted to the United Kingdom. Last year, they relocated to Mumbai — Shailesh joined Accenture and Kshama got placed with IBM. Kshama’s father is a heart patient and has been living with her sister in South Delhi, while undergoing treatment in Medicity hospital, Gurgaon. [caption id=“attachment_307995” align=“alignleft” width=“380” caption=“Friends and relatives of Kshama and Shailesh organised a candle light march on Sunday near the accident spot. Danish Raza/Firstpost”] ![](https://images.firstpost.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/BMW-Kshma.jpg "BMW-Kshma") [/caption] At 12.10 pm on 5 May, Kshama, her parents, Shailesh and their driver Sanjay Gulati were returning from Medanta after meeting Dr Naresh Trehan. Just when they were near the IFFCO Chowk intersection, a BMW racing at 100 kmph rammed into their Indigo. Kshama and the driver died on the spot. Others sustained serious head injuries. Shailesh who was in ICU, has been shifted to the normal ward. On Sunday, his father-in-law was discharged from the hospital. Still recovering from the trauma of the accident, Kshama’s parents are unaware about their daughter’s demise. What happened to the BMW driver? The cover up of sorts has began. The BMW belongs to one Devender Shehrawat. He runs a transport business in Gurgaon. Initially police said Devender’s son Suraj and his friend Daksh Jaiswal were in the car at the time of the accident. Both are injured and in hospital. There has been no arrest so far. The developments in the case so far have been seen as an attempt by the Shehrawats to shield the real culprit. Curiously, a man named Rajesh turned up before the Gurgaon chief judicial metropolitan court claiming responsibility for the accident. Rajesh bears not a scar, from an accident that claimed two lives. Rajesh and his version defy logic. Since the day of the accident, all three Gurgaon houses of Shehrawats are locked. They are represented in court by their lawyer. On Sunday, Maheshwar Dayal, Gurgaon DCP (crime) said that the Sherawats had not been cooperating and the police might soon issue a warrant against them. “We have formed a special investigation team to probe the case.” Friends and relatives of Kshama and Shailesh organised a candle light march on Sunday near the accident spot.
