Delhi, MP, now Pune: Warden rapes mentally challenged woman in hospital

The horror, it seems, will show no sign of ending anytime soon. As the nation reels under the shock of a 5-year-old being treated in Delhi following a brutal sexual assault and a 3-year-old rape victim struggling for life in Nagpur, more bad news comes from Pune. Agencies.[/caption] According to reports, a mentally challenged woman was raped in a Pune hospital by the warden. What was probably worse is the fact that doctors at the hospital tried covering up the incident. NDTV reports that after the incident came to light, two doctors in charge of the hospital, locked the warden in a room and tried blackmailing him for personal gains. They didn’t inform the police and instead tried milking money out of his family. All three have been arrested. NDTV quotes:

“The doctors locked up the warden on the morning of April 17 when they came to know of the incident. They demanded money from his relatives. Some people came to the police station in connection with this. That is how we got to know about the case,” said Shahji Umap, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Chinchwad.\
