Pari: In new teaser from the horror film, Anushka Sharma is chained, battered and very scary

Anushka Sharma-starrer Pari stands up to its claim that the film is “not a fairy tale”. Ever since the first look, poster and teaser were released, fans have been left horror-struck (to say the least). The film makers seem to be building on the film’s innate horror element and utilising it for the film’s promotions. Anushka, on 7 February, released a new teaser of the film that ups the ante to a huge extent. She took to Twitter and posted:

The poster that was released on 6 February featured the male lead, Parambrata Chatterjee (who was previously seen in Kahaani). The new teaser also features Parambrata along with Anushka, who is seen in many forms — from being docile and tensed to raged and furious and finally to a bloody and demonic self — increasing the horror quotient to another level. The 53-second-long teaser is a combination of Conjuring, Insidious, Exorcist —all blended into one. Yes, there are spine-chilling shots, but what leaves a lasting impression is the part in the end where a tensed and exhausted Anushka is seen woken up by a lullaby. On following the source of the sound, she finds a chained woman putting a baby to sleep. Beside her is a feeding bottle full of blood; the woman takes the bottle and herself drinks from it. Later, it is revealed that the chained woman is also Anushka — scarred and bathed in blood. Watch the teaser at your own risk. Pari is directed by Prosit Roy and jointly produced by Clean Slate Films, which is owned by Sharma and KriArj Entertainment. It is slated to release on 2 March, 2018.
