Haseena Parkar: Shraddha Kapoor to dub for film wearing facial prosthetics
Shraddha Kapoor's upcoming film Haseena Parkar, is based on the life of underworld don Dawood Ibrahim's sister. In the film, the don's role has been incidentally played by Kapoor's real-life brother Siddhant Kapoor. In absence of her brother, it was claimed that Parkar looked after all the illicit operations that happened in the Mumbai underworld. The film's poster caption states that while there were 28 legal cases filed against Parkar, she appeared in the court only once.
In the film, Shraddha's role ages from a young girl to a mature woman. She has two main looks in the film: one is that of the younger Haseena who is just making her way into the big bad world of crime. The second is of the mature Haseena, who is now a force to reckon with. Kapoor has apparently been able to look that way using prosthetics, body suits and a lot of make-up.
Now, according to a report by DNA, Kapoor has decided to go a step further. She is likely to dub for the film wearing facial prosthetics, in order to sound genuine. She wants to make her voice sound appropriate as she ages in the film and hence her voice gets heavier.
Director Apurva Lakhia couldn't be happier with Kapoor's dedication. Speaking to DNA, he said ,"Shraddha is showing an unbelievable level of commitment. She insists on wearing the facial prosthetics during dubbing to weigh down her face. This would give her spoken lines that quality of heaviness, which she needs to convey her age in the film. Shraddha had amazing thoughts on how to play the character. I was only too willing to go along with her suggestions."
Haseena Parkar is slated to release on 18 August.
